I am a third year student in UCD and as part of my course work I am required to interview a TD in my area (Palmerstown) about Sustainable Development. I have a few short questions that I would be grateful if you could answer, for the purpose of my project, and for my own knowledge for when it comes down to voting this week.
1. Economic:
- How is employment in the area at the minute?

- Levels of unemployment?

- What do you propose to do about these levels?

- What is that going to do about sustainability for Palmerstown?

2. Social
- Are there pockets of disadvantage in Palmerstown?

- Homelessness in Palmerstown?

- What are the social housing waiting lists like?

- What are you planning to do about these issues?

- What are you currently doing about social sustainability?

3. Environmental
- What kinds of sustainability in terms of energy are being addressed in Palmerstown?

- What do you propose to do in the future for sustainable energy?

- Where does the money come from for investment into these sustainable developments?

- Is there a proposal available if there are any plans?

- Are many businesses being affected by current economic issues?

- What is being done about the closure of businesses?

- Is the cost of staying in Palmerstown to provide a service rising?

- What is being done about this?

- Is the future of the community being looked at?

- Will there be a need for people to move away in the future?

- Are there any solutions to this?

4. Miscellaneous
- Green schools: Are there any in Palmerstown?

- Fair trade: Do many businesses participate in Fair trade currently/plan to?

- Tidy towns: Does Palmerstown participate in the tidy towns competition?

- Transition towns: Is there currently anyone in the community who is working towards this?

- Are there any courses on offer to the unemployed at the minute?

I would be extremely grateful if you could answer as many of these questions as you can, as it would help me enormously with my project.
Thanks
